In 1877, the Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom accepted the title “Empress of India”. The Indian Empire contained today’s India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Burma and existed until 1947. Previously, in 1866, Burma was ocuupied by Britain and affiliated with British-India (til 1937).
